Well, its finally here ! Transformers hits Malaysia, and I’ve already watch it. Even though there were some minor flaws here and there. it was a great movie. As usual, a review from a Transformer fan ! Warning, some spoilers, read with caution.

*note* This will be the last time I’m saying that the review contains spoilers. After that, whenever I post a movie review, please understand that there will be spoilers.

The transformation scene is amazing, but where’s the transformation sound. I can barely hear it. Maybe its the cinema’s sound, but man it sucks to hear it only twice. The storyline overall is good, and I’ve got to admit, the humans are quite good actors, especially sam. He’s got a bright future with this movie. I’m very disappointed with how the Megatron sounds. Hugo Weaving did badly as Megatron. I had high expectation for him, as I look back to his past work, like V. Sadly, he didn’t do well as Megatron. Petter Cullen is the best by far, and man, hearing his voice send chills behind my back. It really moved me and almost brought me to tears when I heard his voice during the narration. It’s really bring back the old memories during my childhood. Great to have Prime in his prime time !

A lot of humor scene to keep the movie not too serious. I love the part where all the Autobots were at Sam’s house. It was funny. Poor Jazz got ripped off like he was nothing by Megatron. Tsk tsk…but he was small to begin with. We had a balance introduction for the Autobots, but…oh well, complain time.

Yeah, no movie is not complete without flaws. One of them is balancing. They have trouble balancing between showing the humans, Autobots and Decepticons. Megatron was like a madman, only possessed to get the Allspark, which was kinda blah. Not the Megatron that I use to know. The Autobots had too much screentime compare to the decepticons. I hardly hear Starscream’s voice, as well as the rest of the Decepticons. All of them die too easily and too quickly. The other Decepticons…what’s with them ? I hardly get to see them talking. The battle scene’s were too short, and Prime getting his robot-butt kicked by Megatron is not my liking. Why the heck they make Prime so weak ? Prime is strong dammit ! He’s the leader of the Autobots for crying out loud !! Tsk, what a waste. Too much human characters too put into the movie, and they did kind a bad job in balancing them during the middle of the film. The first half was good, but the middle was a bit bleh because they want to show so many people at the same time. The Allspark vanished just like that ? Maybe not I guess, but the Decepticons have problems with having the same color. I had hard time identifying which one is which. It was too confusing. Whatever it is, the ending leave a lot of possible sequels, and I’m glad to hear that a 2nd and 3rd movie is already confirmed.

Overall, this is a great movie. I’m giving this a 9 / 10. Every Transformers fan should check it out !

P/S: Now, whenever I see a car, I would think that it will Transformer any second !
