Well, Games Anime Comic Circle returns once again, and the timing couldn’t have been better. I was just traumatized by the recent accident that happened to me, so I need something to get my mind off it. Imagine, every moment I keep remembering it. Yeah, maybe I’m overreacting and dramatic, heh. :p I’m glad that it turned out so well, in fact better than last year, though there were some areas which could be improved. The sad thing about this year GACC is that I just sat at the same place the whole day for the first day, and some ass ruined my mood on the second day, and it was during the cosplay competition finals. It ruined my mood till the end of the show, and made me ‘emo’, like how Adib put it. Another thing that was sad for me was the fact I wasn’t there from the beginning to join them like last year. I was more of helper than a committee, for I would love to be involved in GACC. It was something that I helped create along with my friends, so it sadden me when all I could do is help them during this time, but not during the beginning phase. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed myself during GACC’07.

Anyway, enough of babbling, let me take you to GACC’07 !

P/S: Why do I have a feeling that only Adib, Nazrin and I will make a post about GACC ? =.=

After my work, I quickly went back to pack my stuffs; clothes, towel, sleeping beg, toothbrush, gel, etc. Yup, I’m going to spend my nights and days in the hall. ;p I don’t really mind actually, because last year I couldn’t get to feel it, so this year I would like to experience it. Around 6.15pm, I got ready and my sister drive me to MMU.

When I got there, I was surprised, because the seemed just finish moving the chairs in. When I first entered, Loo Mun spot me from afar and laugh at the sight of me bringing my stuffs in the hall, like I’m moving out from my house. XD I went to keep my stuffs in the VIP room, and went to help out with the preparations of GACC. It was basically sweeping, arranging chairs,setting up the venue, stage, bla2; just like last year, but this year it seems there are more organized in preparing the venue.

We finished arranging and setting up the venue around 10.40pm.

After the setting up was done, all the committees where to gather in front and get the T-shirts and committee briefing. Oh, during this time, the group who went to order McDonalds for everyone earlier came, so the crowd was divided, this was quite funny at that moment. At one side, we have Loo Mun briefing everyone, and Kurogane and Dan distributing the food. XD

During this time, I along with Aizat went to SPR to get his PC for the DJ corner. The DJ corner will be near the stage area, and I will be with Aizat, taking care there.

Anyway, after the briefing was done and all, I went to the PS2 area to play some games, sadly however the television was…spoiled. It displayed red color instead of the original color…=.= So, I decided to sleep after TRYING to play some games, but the color of the television is bothering me so badly…it was around 1.45pm that time.

I went to the VIP room, set up my bed, and tried to sleep.

At the beginning, I couldn’t sleep, so I went out and survey the venue, as there were some committees playing games and hanging around the venue. I saw during this time Sirajj team is practicing their play, but too be honest, it didn’t looked good…^^;; luckily there were some people there to help them out ( Kay Lyn, Aizat, Shav ) Aizat was busy decorating the stage, while Kay Lyn was observing them.

I got bored during that time, so I went to the room to try and sleep, and it was already 2.30pm that time. Just as I was about to sleep….

“Bzzzzzzz”

DAMN ! Mosquitoes !! DAMN IT !!

I went out of the hall and complained to Kristine, and she helped me out by giving me a fan. Thanks girl. I really needed that. So, after a while, I dozed off…

“Krrrriiinnnnggg!!”

Whooops ! Look at the time ! 6am. Just nice.

I woke up, went to look for my towel and my ‘kain sembahyang’ in my beg, then proceed to the surau. I had my morning shower there, brrrr….cold ! It’s been a while I guess since I bath in the morning with cold water. XD After my shower, I back to the hall and help to prepare the venue for the event.

To my surprise, even before 10am, there were already cosplayers waiting outside. Wow, they’re really into this. I helped Hsia-Liang put up some bantings around the event. After that, I stand by at my post, the DJ corner. Tick tock, tick tock, and it was already 10.00am, and door is opened ! Thus, begins GACC’07. Err…not really yet.

Then, along came a tall and long hair dude, Alfred. Yup, he’s the emcee for this year. My first impression ?

He looked like a rock star. :p Anyway, waited till 11am, then they all did the count down together. During this time, we already had quite a number of people in the hall. Sadly, it wasn’t as many as last year ( for the opening ceremony I mean ). Oh, Mr. Syukor and Mr. Shimada is the VIP guest this year for the opening.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1…GACC’07 day 1 officially begins !!

Aizat’s band ( SUPER SAIYAN BOYZ ) starts playing as the opener. I would say the band is not bad, just the vocalist…yeah, Aizat is the vocalist. Like I said to my friends before, he CAN’T SING XD, but people will like him because he is who he is. Yup, he still got around of applause.

After that, Alfred took the stage. Wow, he’s really good, FAR better than I am. I was quite pissed off when people keep on pressuring me the fact why I didn’t take the emcee post. Why should they be angry, when they got Alfred who is 100 times better than me ? =.= I think it was worth paying him for the event, as he made the event lively.

Anyway, coming back to GACC’07, speech by Aizat, which lasted for 45 seconds, speech by Li Sa, which lasted 1 minute and 13 seconds, then speech by Syukor, which lasted…uhh…a whooping 4min and 50 seconds ( Wow, major improvement from last year. Last year, he didn’t give a speech at all. XP ) After Syukor officiated GACC, the opening video played.It got a hell of response from the people. The people definitely loved the video. I’m just glad for Aizat that all those hard work paid off. Peopled liked the video so much that after the opening ceremony, people actually went to the DJ booth to ask for the video. Good for you man.

After that, was a dancing opening by 2 dancers. Honestly ? I wasn’t really impressed by the dance. :p Maybe because I didn’t get a good view ? Maybe it wasn’t my cup of tea ? *shurgs* Whatever it is, their efforts must be applaud.

After that, Alfred ended the opening ceremony, and we are off !

Uh…basically everyone else except me…I’m stuck at the DJ booth giving announcements. Yeah, it was like my job last year, but this time, it was even boring. I didn’t get to get up and move around, only for toilet breaks and lunch. Either than that, I had to sit my butt at the DJ booth, so that’s why you see my picture ‘emo’ mood. Yeah, first day, the only fun part for me was opening ceremony, and whenever there are stages performances. I really didn’t enjoyed much on the first day. ) ~ Long sigh ~

Oh, forgot to mention, this year we had a Gundam DIY ( Do it Yourself ) competition. Actually, this was last years plan, but couldn’t be executed because of no proper timing. Anyway, here’s the picture during the event.

Surprisingly, we had a quite a number of people during the 1st day. They were actually expecting a smaller crowd, but hell, the crowd was like last year a bit. It was nice to see that, but heck…other than that, it was a boring day for me. Even until the very end of the first day, I was dead bored and tired. Surprisingly, just sitting your butt on the chair the whole day can be tiring, heh.

Oh, almost forgot, there were some good performances. Remember the Mario sketch I mention that it didn’t looked good ? Surprisingly, it was really good and funny !

Everyone enjoyed the sketch, and I’m glad for them it worked off. The Chinese Orchestra also was awesome, though I manage to see a bit since I went to toilet break.

Hmmm…anything thing else worth mentioning ? Nah, nothing else. It was a boring day for me, unlike last year. The boring overtakes the fun of the day for me. ~ Sigh ~ Anyway, after the event, we had to clear up, arrange back the tables and all, and get ready for the next day. Bah, my job won’t be changing anyway.

For dinner, I went out to eat with Aizat, Nazrin, and Adib with the CF people. Dammit, I couldn’t even open my mouth during that time. Yeah, Mr. Shy guy here. >__< ;; +___+;; However really, it was really funny hanging out with those guys although I don't talk much. There were really impressive bunch, especially Viktor and Dai.

Almost forgot. Before I went out, I already prepared my bed in the VIP room. When Aizat went called to go out and eat, I went to the room to get my stuffs. I was suprised to find a sleeping Yeow on my bed ! O.O I didn't had time to wake him up, so I asked someone to wake him up and tell him I'm not happy...=.=

After dinner, I went back to the hall, and tired to go to sleep. Yeah, it’s been along and tiring day, so I really need some sleep. It was around 10pm UNFORTUNATELY, there was a band practicing....Oh well, at least the main lead singer CAN sing, so I just tired to sleep. It worked ! I'm asleep !

"Smooth Criminal ringing tone rang"

Who's calling now ? I looked at the handphone, huh ? Loo Mun ? What does she want ? "Khurshid, please tell edo to not let outside people enter, because later I'm scared the vendors stuffs will be stolen. Uh...are you sleeping ?"

Okay...looked at my watch. 10.30pm

...

I just slept for half an hour ? Ughh...went to see Aizat, but told Hilmi instead to tell him, since I couldn't find him. Took around the hall while seeing Kay Lyn practicing her dance for tomorrow. Okay, better try to go to sleep again, its a big day tomorrow ! Sleep...YES !

ARGGHHHH !!! I can't sleep !! =.= I looked at my watch. 11.30pm. Wha ???I slept for 1 hour only ????? =.= I'm going crazy here...

Me and Naz in pissed off mode ( I'm in the pissed off mode, not Naz. )...as I walk to the hall to see the source of the noise...

Yeah, it was SUPER SAIYAN BOYZ alright…=.= After checking around the venue, went back to the room, and FINALLY, I could sleep…

End Day 1

Day 2

“Krinnnnnggg!!”

My alarm clock sound again. It was 6.20am. Wow, I overslept a bit. As usual, went to the surau to take my bath and pray. I saw a dead Nazrin another few committes outside, saying it was too cold. O.o Oh well, maybe because they didn’t bring sleeping begs, and the fact the slept in the hall where there is no people, thus explaining why it’s so freaking cold. ;p

Anyway, after I was done, went back to the hall, helped preparing the venue. Nazrin was quite dead at this point. XD The routine was quite same like yesterday, wait till the hall opens at 10am, then opening for the second day begins at 11am. As usual too, the crowd was already there even before 10am. Around 9am, I still saw Nazrin sleeping. O__O;; I woke him up and told him to go home to get a bath.

Tick tock, tick tock, the clock was almost 11am. Countdown like yesterday…5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ! Begins GACC’07 2nd day !

Opening performance again by the SUPER SAIYAN BOYZ. Yeah, the same vocalist folks. Nope, he still sucks. XD After that short opening, we began day 2 officially ! Oh, I was greeted by someone, Masami. ^^ I was quite surprise that she recognized me, lolz. Anyway, greeted her, then she asked where was Aizat, told him at the DJ booth. So she went to see him. I then was called for something by a committee. After that, went back to the DJ to continue my…routine, Mr. Announcement. =.=;;

Oh, I went to find a group of kid’s who were supposed to enter the drawing competition before 11am. You see, yesterday there were a bunch of kid’s running around the hall, so I think it’s best if I asked them to join the coloring competition. So, I told these kids’s to come today for the coloring competition. Aizat told me that they tricked me, but I believed them and yes, they did come. ^^ So, I lead them to the venue, then left them to the committes there to handle them, good luck ~ ;D

Hey, I helped GACC to find participants for the drawing competition. If not, there WON’T BE ANYONE joining the coloring competition okay ? I expect a pay for this, Lolz. B)

Oh well, back to my job. =.=

Pictures of the event. Oh yeah, meet with Lynn to ! ^^ Too bad she was always busy, didn’t get to talk to her that much.

During one of the slots, there was a band performance by an unknown band. I didn’t like their performance, and I bet the crowd too didn’t like them. Why ? Because they were singing rock songs, nothing to do with anime, games or comic.

Nothing worth mentioning about my job…let’s go the arrival of Mr. Torou Furuya ! Opps, before that, the cosplay competition ( individual ) round 1. It was fun to see the cosplayers into their characters, not too mention Alfred’s witty jokes and professional emcee skills.Click on the picture for higher resolution.

After that, it was the arrival of Torou Furuya !! Before that however, they had to clear the area, security issues, etc. The crowd at this point was MASSIVE. Almost the whole hall was filled people.

After waiting for quite a while, I went to the back area to go to the err…toilet. But, I couldn’t even go to the toilet because it was crowded. By the time I was almost there, suddenly someone from the VIP room came out. Oh noes, Torou Furuya is coming out ! Oh well, go with the flow I guess, so I was suddenly part of the escort Torou Furuya to the stage. :p I felt like a superstar for a moment. XD

After that, quickly went to the toilet and returned to my pose. The Q & A session with Torou was great. Not too mention it was even great because Torou is a very friendly and supporting person. I pity the translator though, she was very nervous, since it was her first time on stage. She got so nervous at one point she couldn’t translate. Luckily someone helped translate.

Then, Torou was asked to do some voice acting from the characters he did before. It was amazing to see how Torou changed his voice from Amuro Ray to Tuxedo Mask. It was awesome.

After that was over, it was the autograph session. nothing much for me to do at this point.

Oh yeah…I forgot to mention, before this point, I was already in a bbbbbbaaaaaaadddd mode. Why ? There was this asshole, which was a committee, but was damn rude towards me, and ordering me around. I just listened, because I know my place, I’m just a committee. From this point however, it ruined my WHOLE mood. I became ‘emo’ until the end of day 2. I was only cheered up by the performances on stage. I even blurted out a “I HATE GACC” statement, because of that asshole. I was so angry and frustrated at this point.

Okay, enough of my ‘emo’ thing. ;p Let’s get back to GACC.

After the autograph session, it was the group cosplay competition. Nope, there is only 1 round and 1 winner for this one. It was quite interesting and fun to watch. I didn’t manage to catch Iluna’s sketch, because I went for my toilet break. Other than the 1st Naruto group and Kingdom Heart sketch, the rest wasn’t really interesting to watch, because they use to much movements and no mic work.

During this time, Thye Shin and Ai Ling came and meet with us. Great too see them. ^_____^

After a short break and all, was the cosplay competition final round ( individual ). The top 10 cosplayers who manage to enter the finals are grouped into pairs, and they are required to perform a sketch with their partner.

They are of course given time to prepare, during the group cosplay competition. Torou Furuya was the special guest judge for this round. The cosplay competition was hilarious and fun. It’s quite hard to explain in words, just take a look at the pictures.

After it was over, it was time to end GACC’07. Before 6pm however, there was a dance performance lead and organized by Kay Lyn. The One Piece dance honestly was okay. :p Then, it was the Haruhi dance. I was looking forward to this one most, because I heard that it was great and perfect. Uh…sadly, it didn’t lived up to my expectations. It was just…okay too. Whatever it is, their effort is too be applaud, good job Kay Lyn !

Around 6pm, it was the prize giving ceremony. Yesterday we had one too, for yesterday’s competition winners. Nothing much to mention during this point, just Torou presented some of the prizes. After the prize giving ceremony, a few words by Alfred, and a “See you next year in GACC’08 !” statement, it was over. GACC was over, and it was a rousing success, even better than last year. Then, the SUPER SAIYAN BOYZ played a song. However, this time, not many people stayed to watch, because they were already tired and want to go home, and another thing is Alfred forgot too mention that there will be a closing performances by them. :p

After the event, there was a group photoshot by the CF-ians.

During that time, most of the committes were busy cleaning the hall, because they had to return the hall tomorrow. It was heartwarming and nice to see the CF-ians went to the GACC committees and thanked them for a wonderful event. It was really great at the end of the day, everyone was happy with the event. After a cleaning quite a while, we all sat down and gather for a groupshot. After that, most of the committee went back home, while Aizat and I went back to SPR to return his PC there. We then went to sweet tea for dinner. Before I went to dinner however, I asked Yeow to take care of my stuffs, as a punishment for sleeping on my bed yesterday. >:) I had a quite a chat with Navin, Wilson, Nazrin, Hsia-Liang and Nikki. Around 11.30pm, I asked Aizat to send me back home, so we went back to the hall and I find poor Yeow all alone there. I went to get my stuffs, put it in Aizat’s car and he drove me back. I got home around 11.50pm.

Overall ? GACC was a success, better than last year. I’m just happy for Hi-comms, who worked so hard for the event. Li Sa, congrats, for your event was a success. Aizat, congrats, for making EMiNA go further and making EMiNA bigger than it was before. To all of the committes, congrats and I hope we all will have another opportunity to work together again. Thanks to GACC for being my cure of the trauma I had a few days ago. I do hope there will be another GACC next year, but that depends on the committee I guess.
