.::. Beauty and the beast

April 7, 2006

When I got back after my Enterpreneuship test, I found that there a bunch of old movies that my brother just download. He told me that he was feeling nostalgic, so thats why he download the old movies. Feeling bored with animes and current movies, I decided to watch one. The one I watch was one of my old favourite movies, Beauty and The Beast.

Beauty and The Beast

Long before I was an anime fan, I used to like Walt Disney movies, like Mickey Mouse, Lion King, Aladdin, Snow White, etc. I believe most of us watched this Walt Disney movies before, so I’ll just explain briefly about the story. The story is taken from the famous fair tale, Beauty and the Beast. The story is about….

A tale of Prince who lived in a castle. The Prince was rich and wealthy, but he has a cruel heart. On one stormy night, an old women visited the castle. She asked the prince for shelter, and in return she offered him a rose. Disgusted by the old women appearance, he turned the women away. However, the women warned him not to be deceive by apperance. When he turned again, the old women transformed herself into a beautiful women. The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she has not seen a single drop of kindness inside his heart. As a punishment, she transformed him into a hedious beast, along with everyone who lived inside the castle. Ashamed by his apperance, the beast locked himself within the castle. The women gave him a mirror, which enables him to see anything he wants, and also the rose that she offered him. The rose, was an special rose. If the Beast could learn to love another, and the other love him in return, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would remain as a beast for all time. As the years past, he feel into despair, for who could ever love….a beast ?

Why would I go watch this movie again ? I don’t know, I just feel like watching a relaxing movie, so why not ? This movie is a must watch, for all ages. I just love watching how the director showed the beast changed from a heartless and cruel person to a kind and loving person. Belle is one of a kind women, which is hard to find by nowadays. I don’t think not many people would love a person who is ugly and hedious. I used to be scared of the beast when I was small. ^^;;; The songs in this movie is just simply lovely, especially the ever famous Beauty and the Beast by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson. The voice actors and actress are simply top notch, especially Belle and Beast voice. It really siuts the character. The animation is superb, of course don’t expect the animation to be like in animes.

Somehow this time, I was touched when watched this movie, especially the part where Belle and Beast danced. Yeah, maybe because I’m older now and I’m searching and learning to understand the meaning of love. :P Overall, this movie is a must watch, even if you are not a cartoon fan. This movie just appeals to all ages. So, before I end this review, I leave you with the forever beautiful theme song of this movie, Beauty and the Beast by Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson, enjoy. :)

Beauty and the Beast
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly

Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
And ever just as sure
As the sun will rise

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise

Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong

Certain as the sun
(Certain as the sun)
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast

Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast

  1. Belle, not loceng :p

And…. I’ve always dreamed to wear a dress like hers and do my hair like hers. Maybe I will… one day…

Disney cartoons used to rock till they used computer to replace a lot of things. The traditional method was really more graceful and soft.

  2. O__o;; Whoppss, made another error there. ^^;;;

Really ? I thought I was the only one who watched Walt Disneys cartoons. ^^;; I started to disliked thier cartoon after Hunch Back of Notre Dame. Later, I think all the cartoon they produce wasn’t that nice anymore.

  3. I still liked Mulan but…. most after that I watch but I don’t like it as much. Too much computer generated stuffs. Another cartoon I love but it’s not from Walt Disney is Anastacia. Totally loved this :)

  4. Loceng… XD Damn you did it again, Kid.

Memang. Disney classics are a magic. You can watch them again anytime. Name it. Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Alladin, even those older ones with less ‘wow’ CGing to it, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella…magical. Tho…my love for these shows kinda got stuck at a point where the story’s kinda more ‘gila’ factor to it than the ‘touching’ factor…

Still…..I think Beast looks better in his ‘beast’ form rather than when he was turned into ’supposedly a hansome prince’ (ewwww…this big hunk sux…must ganti with Hotohori-quality guy XD XD)

  5. Volvoxx: But it was a typo !!!! >___< Yeah, I too prefer the Beast with his beast form. When he changed back too his human form...errr...no comment. ^^; Even his voice doesn't sound nice after that. :P

Lego: Yeahhhh, me too. ^______^ Mulan was great too, but after that...bleh.

P/S: I thought I was the only Disney fan around. XD
