:.: The road to GACC06
March 18, 2006
Let me take you to journey, like no one has never seen before…and was never told before.
The road…
to GACC06.
*Note: This is not the whole story before GACC, its just the story 2 weeks before GACC. If I wanted to explain the whole process of GACC…it will take a whole day for me to explain.
All I can tell you, the road to GACC wasn’t an easy road. It was filled with bumps, problems, hardship, drama and conflict.*
6 march 2006
On this day, I was assigned to do promotion for GACC06 around all the primary and secondary schools in Melaka Tengah area. I was accompanied by Aizat and Nazrin for this task. Originallly, we plan to cover 30 schools, but in the end, we only managed to cover 20, due to petrol and stamina issues.
Around 7.30am, we pushed off from PBBU to our first destination, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Beruang, a primary school near around Bukit Beruang area. Our transportation for the day was Aizat’s trusty light green kancil. We arrived at the school around 7.45pm. We had to wait till 8.05pm, since the school was still having the school assembly. After that, we procced to the office to meet with the headmaster/headmisteress. Unfortunately for me, the response I got wasn’t really good. I was treat quiet rudely by the female staff / teacher there, where as I was talking nicely with her. Since the principal wasn’t in, I went to see the councellar instead. Thank God the councellar wasn’t as mean as the staff / teacher just now.

Next school, Sekolah Kebangsaan Ayer Keroh. Nothing really special about the school, its just that I liked the way the principal showed his interest in the event, asking me about the event and the activites. I really enjoyed explaining and answering his questions. The principal was friendly too if I may add.
Another friendly person was the GPK 1 from Sekolah Menengah Bukit Katil. It was really great too see how he was so into the event, and promised to encourage the students to go event. Yay !! xD

The next school is Sekolah Menengah Ayer Keroh. The thing about this school that amazes me is the infrastructure and the facilites. The first time we went to this school, we thought that the school was on a holiday or the students there skipped classes, because it was so quiet. Later, when we went in deeper into the school, our jaws drap. It was soo big, and it didn’t look like a school. After recovering from our amazement, we decide to go to the office. We went to the first floor, again our jaw dropped. There was actually a waiting area at the first floor, my God !!! Even the teacher meeting room looked even more advance from those found in MMU.

We finished our ‘tour’ around 3.30pm. Our last destination was Sekolah Menengah St. David. Not much of problems going on during the trips, except there was one school where I had to run up and down because I always get wrong information. It was really a tiring day for me.

Some random pictures during the trip :

On this day, my task was to help distribute flyers around Bukit Beruang area. I was assigned around PBBU area, but later after I finished PBBU, I went to join Li Sa and the geng at Bunga Raya. After our task, Lynn, Li Sa, Zhi Kang, Jin, Benny, Loo Mun and I went to Pizza Hut to have our launch. I haven’t had Pizza Hut for a long time, so it was really great to able to taste it again. Also, I rarely ate with Li Sa and the rest, but too bad Kristine couldn’t join us, since she was have a bad migrain. I had a lot of fun during that time, like random chats and oh, the day where Loo Mun was known as ‘Datin’ Loo Mun. xP
14 March 2006 - 16 March 2006
On this day, I had to take care of the EMiNA booth at CLC and also help promote our event to the MMU students. We had a PS2 there to get thing spice up, and the good thing it got a lot of people’s attention. Even the security guard came and play with the PS2. xD It was quiet fun, and me hanging around the booth the whole day. One of those days, Lynn cosplayed as Pac-man monster, which looked so cute. ^^ Every day we had to give posters and flyers too the MMU students. We really hoped we could pull a large crowd for the event. Oh, during one of these days, there was one Tekken 5 player who camed to our booth and complained about the rules and regulations. ^^;;;;

Nikki, Hilmi, Aizat and I went to Hsia-Liang to do our mascot, real life form you could say. It took us from 8.30pm until 3am in the morning, but we still couldn’t finish it. First, we had to tear old newspaper to pieces, then mix it with water. That process already took like…5 hours ? ^^;;; During that time, we had to build the frame with wires. Here’s some pics :

Around 3am, we went to McD Drive through to eat something, since all of us were feeling hungry. It was quiet fun driving in the night, since the road was all clear and not busy. As usual, I drived like a mad man, and there was a part where the car…screech. ^^;;; I got knocked on the head by Nikki for doing that. >_< ;;

After that, we continued it until 6am, but still we couldn’t finish the mascot. We decided to finish it later, so we leave it be for that day.

Oh, just for laughs. xD Picture taken by Nikki.

16 March 2006 ( Night )
Our final general meeting with the working committee. Everything went well, just some people were clueless of what to do. Later, around 9.30pm, all of us went to exam hall to clear up all the tables and chairs, so that MBMB set up the stage. Unfortunately, we couldn’t move the chairs and tables into the store, so we just had to temporary place them to the wall. Around 11pm, I took my leave, because I had to practice my Emcee part with my brother. I haven’t really practice my part anyway. However, on my way back, I got involve with my first ever accident, me banging a motorcylist. Thank God he wasn’t seriously injured, but I was really freaked our during the incident. I thought that he was going to beat me up or something. Aizat’s keep mentioning “I told you, you didn’t want to listen.” words didn’t help calmed me at all, thanks a lot. Later, the person’s dad came and we promised to settle everything tomorrow. After that, I went home and had to force myself to practice the emcee, even though I was feeling traumatized from the incident.
Later, I got a call from Shin Dee, asking me about the accident, which suprise me, because only Aizat, Nazrin, Kelvin ( a WC ) and I only knew about the incident. Well, I wasn’t fine, but still had to force myself to practice. Later, Nikki called me and told me that Li Sa too just had a small accident, where she feel from her motobike in front of them. Wow…the two top people got into an accident, what next ? The Director ?? I hope not. Around 2am, I decided to call it a day off. During this time, Nikki and some working coms was doing decoration at Li Sa’s house, which still hasn’t been completed while Aizat, Nazrin, and Adib went back to our apartment to make some…err…stuffs to complete the mascot.
17 March 2006
I went to the campus around 7.15am, since I have to accompany Datin there to wait for MBMB. When I arrived there, Li Sa and Datin was already there. After waiting till 8.30am, the MBMB guys came to set up the stage. Justin joined us around 8am, then after the MBMB workers set up the stage, we all had to move the chairs and tables in the store room. Yup, FMD people finally came in and opened all the doors. The good thing was, they said we can use all the stuffs in the exam hall, which was a bonus to us. Some working coms came and helped us out later around 9am with the shifting. Around 11am, Nikki came with some working coms with the partition boards from Pay Fong. Around 12.35pm, I went back to my apartment to get Nazrin’s, Aizat’s and Hilmi’s PC and brought it to MMU. During the trip back to MMU, something went wrong with my mum’s car. It made loud noise’s, coming from the engin. Since the workshop wasn’t open, I had to go back to my house at Ujong Pasir first to do my Friday prayers, and then send my brother to his colleage. Later, I meet with the person that I knocked down yesterday, and then I gave him RM 150 for him to repair his bike. At first, he wanted me to give RM 200, but I don’t have much money to give, so he finally accepted RM 150. After that, I went to the workshop to repair the car.
The problem was the fan of the engin came off, and the guy told me that it little stones knocking over the screw of the fan. After paying for the fees, I went back to Ujong Pasir to fetch my brother, and continue practicing my Emcee part. Around 7.30pm, I went back to MMU, because there was suppose to be a rehersal for the opening ceremony. Too bad that there couldn’t be a rehersal, because everyone was too busy setting up the venue event. I took my leave again around 11pm, because I had to practice my emcee part again. Before I took my leave, the decoration in the hall and backstage wasn’t ready, and the mascot was yet to be ready ( it was still wet ).
Will everything be alright for tomorrow, after all the problems that have arise ? Will I be able to perform my emcee job well ?
More importantly, will this event be a success ? Will GACC rock ?
Preview :
Are you ready to rock ????
