:.: EMINA GACC BBQ

February 26, 2006

The month February has been a hell of a month for me, and I believe some of my friends. For Nazrin, he got his wallet, laptop ( 3 years of hard work of collecting MP3’s ) and handphone stolen, and Edo, with his personal big problem. Me ? I have my problems of my own. CADP club, like I said before, seems like dying. The event is not moving, and my committees are not committed enough. What do they do ? They give me work to do, whereas it’s not my event. Some of my friends became my enemies just because of stupid reasons. Backstabbers, front stabbers, I met all of them, in the month of February. My Final Year Project was one hell of a presentation. A lot of things went wrong. I had an argument with my mum as well. EMiNA are also having problems within. February has been nothing but pain and sorrow for month.

However, I’m glad on Saturday, there was at least on memorable event.

GACC BBQ. I was chosen by Li Sa and Hsia-Liang to handle it, with Kristine as my assistant. At the beginning, everything didn’t look so well. We got only like 27 people who went to BBQ, including highcoms. We were afraid that amount was too little. However, in the end, even though with only 27 people, the activity was a great and memorable one.

On Friday, I went to the woods to gather firewood, while Kristine went to buy the food and other materials with Dexter and Lynn. Gathering the firewood was really tough, especially when I had to do it all by myself, with a little help from Nazrin. With only 2 man power, we couldn’t gather as much wood as we want. Call my dad to bring balloons, flour and sweets for the games.

Before that, on that week, the GACC committee really had one hell of a week. So, I really hope that the BBQ will act as a stress reliever for all of them. On Saturday morning, I still went to the woods to find more firewood. There was more, but too bad they were big, and I can’t carry all of them. Around 3.20pm, I, Edo, Nazrin and Hilmi pushed off from our apartment to MMU.

When I arrived, they was a few working coms along with Shin Dee. Anyway, we waited until 4pm, but the bus driver was still not there ! O_o; I called him, and than he told me that he was stuck in a jam…>___< ; Around 4.05, the bus driver arrived, and we all pushed off from MMU. The bus was blazing hot, and I was sweating like freaking hell. We reached at Pantai Kundur around 4.40pm. I really was glad when we got off from the bus.

After we arrived, we all gather up, and started to play the activities. Kay Lyn was in charge of the activities, so I let her take over. I went to the toilet with Zhi Kang to fill the balloons with water, while all of them were playing the games After we finished, I went to join them for the games.

The first game that they played was guessing the anime title.

Passing the message Type A
Rate : Depends on type of message (Easier than Type B)
Tools: Paper
Speed of game: Medium
How to play:
1. Every group member is to make a circle.
2. A representative of each group is given a short message written on a paper (e.g. title of book, movie, famous phrase, anime, manga) [every group can be different titles] and within a given time (e.g. 5 minutes) he/she is allowed to think of a way to pass the message without verbal usage.
3. When the whistle is blown, the representative is to pass the message using hand signals or any other actions as long as there’s no verbal involved to all the other members until there’s someone who can guess the message correctly.
4. Then another message is given to him and the same thing continues.
5. The fastest group which guessed all messages correctly wins.

Forgot to mention, there was 3 groups, “Orange”, “Dunno” and “Who knows”. Please don’t ask me about why the name is like that, beats me. XP For the first game, the winner was Orange. Then, we moved on to our second game.

Passing the message Type B
Rate : Depends on type of message
Tools: Paper
Speed of game: Medium

3.When the whistle is blown, the second member is to face the first person of the group and he/she has to pass the message using hand signals or any other actions as long as there’s no verbal involved to the next person behind him/her without revealing it to the third member.
4.This continues until the message is passed to the last person and he/she has to run straight to the game-master and say out what he/she think the message is.
5.The member of any group who guessed almost / correctly and the fastest one wins.

For this one, I think Dunno won. I can’t really remember. :p

After that, we played SMACK, which I also decided to volunteer to play.

5. When the other name is shouted, the beater has to change its victim until he/she is able to hit someone before a name is shouted.

This one was kind of fun, but too bad in the end I was the one who got punished. T__T I was “tied” on a tree, while getting myself hit by a ballon filled with water. Loo Mun was the one who got me, damn ! But never mind, there is always the other games…nyehehe.

It was kind of fun actually. :p Then, I decided to have my sweet revenge. Forming an alliance with Benny and the rest, we slowly crawl to Loo Mun....and threw her into the sea !! Hurr...WHAT ???? >___< ; They really had they way with me. XD After that, I decided to pull Nikki into the sea. XP

Some pictures :

Gah !! Buried alive !! And they are enjoying it !!! />_< ;;The team who got thrown into the sea.

After the games, we all played in the sea. Around 7pm, we started our BBQ. I didn’t feel like eating, I don’t know why. Maybe because the person who cooked sucked. XP ( joking XD ) I was probably more interested in the camp fire that we wanted to do, but too bad they fire wasn’t big and long enough. Around 10pm, we packed up, and went back to MMU.

We arrived at MMU around 10.30pm, we all went to Yam Cha at RSU. I actually wanted to eat at Sweet Tea, but they all wanted RSU…oh well. Anyway, we all discuss about the BBQ, chatted here and there. They also had fun laughing at the video’s Edo took, including a video me half naked playing PS2. WTH….=____=’

Around 12am, we all went back. I really had fun during the BBQ, and I hope that we can have more activities like that in the future. ^____^

Now, a few people I need to thank, because they were such a big help. Li Sa, for bringing up the idea of wanting to have an activity with more interaction with members ( your speech was too short. >_> and I was the one to pull you into the sea XD ), Kristine, for helping me with gathering members, bus money and food ( too bad I couldn’t throw you into the sea XP Thanks for the dinner yesterday. ), Kay Lyn, who helped me out with the games ( *hugs* If you didn’t help me out with the games, I think the activities would be boring. I’ll treat you someday, I promise. ), and the rest of the highcoms ( Thank you so much everyone for coming and helping out. Lynn *bear hugs*, Jinn *kicks *, Loo Mun *bear hugs and laughs XD*, Dexter *bear hugs*, Shu Yin *bear hugs*, Hsia-Liang *bear hugs*, Nikki *bear hugs*, Shin Dee *bear hugs* Zhi Kang * bear hugs*, and Justin *bear hugs* ). Thank you so much, and I hope you guys had a blast experience during the BBQ.
