Last Saturday, I joined a trip to Comic Fiesta ( CF ), conducted by EMiNA. A long post with a lot of pics, so click the link to read more !

A small introduction about CF, taken from the official website:

The objective of Comic Fiesta is to set a model to encourage more comics, animation and gaming (ACG) fans to gather and exchange ideas, and to expose this hobby to the Malaysian public. This is also to encourage other similar events to be held in Malaysia.

The influence and popularity of ACG as of now is growing rapidly in Malaysia. Meanwhile it has been very popular among other Asian countries, not to mention the Western countries such as the USA as well. By having conventions like this, we are able to interact with fans and expand the fan community.

Comic Fiesta is the first fan-based convention in Malaysia. Before the first Comic Fiesta was held in December 2002, there were similar local conventions - however their main objective was to boost sales, while our main purpose is to gather fans, interact with each other and to introduce to them other elements in the category such as doujinshi (amateur comics, usually parodies of existing works) and other fan works.

The event is a two-day event, but EMiNA will be only going for one day. Reason ? Money…and transportation. Truthfully speaking, I wasn’t looking forward to this event. Why ? I guess most of you guys know, but let me just say it, I don’t like cosplay that much, just not my cup of tea. So, why did I go ? Well…was persuade by some of my friends, and the main reason I follow wasn’t because I wanted to go to CF, but I wanted to go to Sunway Pyramid. XP

Anyway, before the trip, I went home on Friday to go and get my camera. Wouldn’t want to go there without my dad’s digital cam. On Saturday morning, around 7am, my parents send me back to my apartment. To my surprise, Edo and Nazrin already woke up. Hmm…this is rare. Even during Anime Week 05 they weren’t that pumped up like this. XP Oh well, it’s CF, something that Nazrin was very looking forward too.

Edo pushed off to campus first, since he had to settle IVAQ event first. After I packed all of my stuffs, I and Nazrin moved to campus around 8.45am. So, when we arrive, almost everyone was there. However, the bunch of people who will be going with us this time was not as many like Bon Odori. Most of them are busy with assignments and projects. To my surprise, Jin wasn’t joining us ! Hmm…this is indeed rare. ^_^; Hsia-Liang will join us late, since he had exam that morning. Before we got on the bus, I joked with Nazrin, saying what happens if the bus suddenly broke down. XD That is something that he really doesn’t want to happen.

Around 9.30am, we all got on the MMU bus and push off around 9.40am. Had some chattings on the bus, but most of the time I was sleeping. Around 11.45am, I woke up, and it seems that we are almost there. However, something happened along the way. We got lost. >__< It took us a while to find the way, and in the end, we end up arriving there around 1pm. We were suppose to arrive around 12pm, but yeah, like I said, we got lost. >_< Nazrin didn't like that at all..XD The event venue was at a private school hall, Sri Sedaya. The school didn't look like a school, it looked more like a collage. ^_^;;

The drive parked the bus outside, so we had to walk our way inside. Oh, along the way, SHIT HAPPENS. XD XD I hope when you are reading this part you are not eating. ^_^;; Along the road that we were walking, there were some fresh..err...dog shit. Surprisingly, the color of the shit is green and the other was another, brownish color. I was a bit amazed with the green color one, never seen that type in my entire life. ^__^;;;

The first shit that we encountered was the green colored one, which all of us successfully dodge and invade it. I was walking with Adib that time. While Adib and I were making jokes about the first shit that we encountered, there was another shit ahead of us, which both of us didn't notice. Nikki, Nazrin and Kristine tried to warn Adib and I, but I guess we were to busy talking, and what happened ? Adib end up stepping on the shit, while I dodge it. XD So, that's the story behind the SHIT HAPPENS thing. XD Pity you Adib. Don't worry, he washed his sandals before he went into the hall.

The hall was on the second floor, so we all took the stairs and went up. Along the way, we could already see some cosplayers. After a few walks, we arrive at the second floor, and my god it was full of people ! Even the person who took care of the tickets was a cosplayer ! O_o;; Li Sa took care of the tickets, and later gave us our and tickets. So, after we all got our tickets and guide books, we entered the hall. The hall was full of people, and it look happening. ^__^ However, the hall is a bit small, and it was expecting a bigger hall.

At first all of us were a bit blur on what to do. I guess most of us were amazed the amount of crowd. Later, we all moved along among ourselves. Its quiet easy for us to bum among ourselves, since the hall is small. There were so many cosplayers, from many types of anime and games. I took my time to survey the doujinshi booths and also the merchandise booths. Some of them were good, some of them were…err..no comment. ^_^;; However, I didn’t buy anything, because I was low on cash. >.< ;; Took some pictures along by the way, so take a look ! ^____^

After I had survey enough the booths and all, Nikki, Adib, and I went to do our assignment for GACC: Get contacts of the doujin sellers. Along the way, Nikki simply couldn’t resists on buying stuffs, like T-shirts, plushies and other stuffs. < .<;; I think she spent about RM 100+ for all those things that she bought. O_o;; Oh, Nikki bought a Corporal Giroro (Giroro Gochō) hat, from Keroro Gunso, which Nazrin and Edo love so much. The hat was a bidding item, and the starting price was RM 20. She bought it at RM 33, with me supporting her RM 2, kekeke. :D Along the way, I saw OS-tans stuffs, and decided to buy Hsia-Liang a 2k-tan. ^__^

I have to say we got quiet a lot of contacts, and I really have to thank Nikki, Adib, Lisa and another working com which I always ended up forgetting his name. >_< ;; Since we were already done with our job, we decided to look around, and took some pictures here and there. I must say that Jackie ( if I got her name right. ^_^;; ) looked charming among all the cosplayers that day. ^_______^ She's cosplaying as Princess Garnet, from Final Fantasy IX.

Around 4pm, all of us meet up at the front stage, and since we all already survey around and all, we all decided to sit. During that time, there were some performance on the stage, anime quiz, and other stuffs. I was more impressed on the videos that they showed, like Kingdom Hearts II trailer and another anime video which was really cool. In that video, they showed a lot of anime characters, running in different anime worlds. It was really cool and awesome. Gonna have to ask Nazrin to find that video. XD Oh, Hsia-Liang joined us later, and I gave him the 2k-tan that I bought for him earlier. ^___^ He seems to like it. Took some photos later after that.

Around 5pm, we all pushed off from Sri Sedaya too…Sunway Pyramid !! Yeah, I was looking forward to this more than CF actually. :p It was short trip, since Sunway wasn’t that far. Upon arriving there, I saw the great Lion…Aslan, from Chronicles of Narnia, in stone form !! XD Nah, just joking there. I just love to call that thing Aslan. So, there first things when we all did when we arrived at Sunway ? EAT !!! Damn, we all were freaking hungry, since most of us didn’t eat our breakfast and launch.

It was quiet a problem to choose where to eat, since there were a lot of places to eat. Personally, I don’t mind eating at fast food outlet, like McDonalds or KFC. XD In the end, we end up eating at Ramen something something ( forgot the name of the restaurant XP ) shop. Tried Ramen for the first time, and I must say it was really nice ! ^__^ Had to treat Nikki, since I promise her. >_< ;; There goes my RM 40 ~ T___T Oh well, didn't bother me anyway. :) Went to change my clothes before that, because I promised to Hsia-Liang that I will go Ice skating with him. ^___^ I was expecting the place be freaking cold. *shivers*

While we all were eating, Hsia-Liang asked who would like to come and ice skating along with us. I really wanted Edo to come along, but somehow he keeps refusing. I didn’t wanted to bug him anymore about it, since he really looked freaked out. So, it was Hsia-Liang, Nikki, Lisa, Ein Yen and I went for Ice Skating. I was seriously excited about it. I wanted to invite Lisa, Kristine and the rest, but they were no where to been seen. Oh well, never mind I guess. But I simple can’t imagine Lynn skating with her Tsunade outfit. XD Nikki went to the toilet before that.

After Nikki arrived, we all went to the ice skating arena, which is a floor below us. Before that, we could already see it from above, and the more I see it, the more excited I got ! So, we went to the counter, and my god the price per person is RM 20 !! 0__o that doesn’t include the price for the gloves. >_< ;; So, if include the price with the gloves, its a whopping RM 25 !! >__< Oh well, Hsia-Laing treat me a bit, so no worries. ^__^ I paid half, while he pay RM 15 for me. Thanks man. ;)

So, for RM 25, we got ourselves gloves, tags and Ice skating shoes. The shoes are for rent only, but we get to keep the gloves, Yay! Hsia-Liang and Lisa got book a locker, so we can keep our belongings. Hsia-Liang advice us its better for us to keep our handphones in the locker, as it would be a pretty thing we fall on our back or side, and our handphones are in our pockets. ^__^;;

After putting on the shoes, I try to balance myself. It was a bit difficult at first, but after a few seconds, I got the hang of it. After everyone was ready, here we go baby ! ^_^ We all went to the ice skating arena !! It was quiet scary at first, since it was quiet hard to balance myself. >_< Later, I got the used to it, but still I had to told the side of the walls at first. I could see a lot of people like us, freshies. XD To my disbelief, Lisa can skate !! -.-! Damn ! Not fair !! >__<

Nikki had problems, as she spent most of the time holding the side wall. XD Lisa was with her most of the time. Well, most of us had that problem, including Hsia-Liang, who once skate before. After a few while, he finally got the hang of it, and was skating like most of the people there were. Somehow, I also got the use of it in quiet a short time, and I was skating like Hsia-Liang already. ^__^ Lisa and the rest couldn’t believe that I could skate already, since this was my first time. Oh well, what can I say ? XD ( jk )

Oh, I did feel, 3 times, but I still felt fun even though I feel. Poor Ein Yen, he feel on his back. O_o;; Never mind, the thought of trying is important. Lisa also feel too, Nyahahaha, and the best part of it, I saw her feel. XD XD Ebil kid…XD Hsia-Liang and Nikki didn’t feel, as Hsia-Liang knows how to balance himself, while Nikki keeps on holding on to the wall. Overall, it was a great experience.

Around 7.30pm, we all decide to stop. After gathering back with the rest, we decided to split up, since I know most of them wants to go shopping and survey around. Hsia-Liang went to survey the PC shops around there and bought himself an External HDD worth RM 450. Nikki bought herself another T-shirts, and Nazrin got himself a PS2 game. Me ? went to surf around, and went to the see a comic shop and also played some games at the arcade.

Around 8.30pm, we all gathered backed at the main entrance. I was a bit upset that we had to leave earlier, but oh well. Nikki treated me with a muffin at Starbucks. ^__^ While waiting for the bus to arrive, I took some photos.

At 9pm, the bus arrived, and its time for us to move back to Melaka. On the way back to Melaka, I chatted with Lynn and the rest, it was quiet fun. ^__^ Some shoots in the bus.

Slept after a few minutes later. Around 11.30pm, we arrived at Melaka. Still feeling hungry, we decide to eat. It was Hsia-Liang, Nazrin, Lisa, Kurogane, Adib, Nikki, Ein Yen and I went to eat at Restaurant Times Millennium ( RTM ), as the rest already went back. Along the way to RTM, while I was talking to Adib and Hsia-Liang, suddenly everyone was walking very fast, leaving me behind. I was wondering what was going on. Then, of all the sudden, I heard Hsia-Liang said who’s the last one behind has to treat everyone eat ! O_o! Hell no way !! I’m almost broke, and you expect me to treat everyone ???? So, I dashed, and everyone was shocked that I dash super quickly, leaving them behind now. XD It was really funny seeing how everyone was racing among each other.

Then, we arrived at Time Millennium, tired from the running just now. :p Had some funny and great conversation, it was really great. Nikki decided to borrow the Giroro hat to Nazrin, and Edo didn’t like that. XD Around 12.30pm, we all decided to move. When we got back, it was already raining. O_o;; I guess we move back just in time. ^_^; I just pity those guys who haven’t reached back at their home/apartment. XP

Overall, I would say it was a great trip, both CF and Sunway. Really had a lots of fun, and I hope we can go again some other time. ^___^ Special thanks to Edo and Li Sa for the pictures. Waiting for Lynn’s one.
