The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

Synopsis:

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe follows the exploits of the four Pevensie siblings — Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter — in World War II England who enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of ‘hide-and-seek’ in the rural country home of an elderly professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Under the guidance of a noble and mystical ruler, the lion Aslan, the children fight to overcome the White Witch’s powerful hold over Narnia in a spectacular, climactic battle that will free Narnia from Jadis’ icy spell forever.

I went to watch this movie last Saturday, and I must say that I’m very statisfied with the movie. The movie starts a bit slow, but then after that it grows exciting. However, I wished the showed more on the Pevensie family travelling in the world of Narnia. The world of Narnia is not as detailed as Middle Earth like Lord of the Rings, which is a bit dissapointing. Anyway, the were quiet a lot of humours moments in the movies, which is good, and my god the beavers are so adorable ! Wished that I can have one. :P The other creatures also looks cool too, even though most of them are computer generated.

However, there were some flaws in the movie, and most of them mainly come from the cast. The White Witch ( Tilda Swinton ) doesn’t really look scary and evil, Peter ( William Moseley ) looks really weird when he rise his sword, not too mention his overall acting is stiff, and that goes same with Susan ( Anna Popplewell ) who also doesn’t doesn’t give a good acting. Too me, only Edmund ( Skandar Keynes ) and Lucy ( Georgie Henley ) gave a good performance. I would say that Lucy was the star of the movie.

I was a bit dissapointed with drama between Edmund and Peter. I wished that they focus a bit more on that, so it would make the things spicey. Maybe thats me. Oh by the way, Liam Nesson rawks, you hear me ? XD Even though he’s just the voice for Aslan, but I really like his voice and his slang. The beavers also were great, just simply love them. XD The war scene was quiet nice, but it was rather too quick. Wished they lengthen the war scene. Another thing I wasn’t statisfied is that the Witch died so quickly ! >_< Wished that they showed Aslan ripped her head off or something. :P

There were some touchy moments in the movie, like the part The Witch humiliated Aslan before she was killed him. That was really sad. Suprisingly, I shed a tear during the part where Edmund and Peter hugged near the end of the movie. Maybe because it reminds me of family relationship. Thank God Nikki didn’t see me crying. XP

Overall, this is a good movie, and its worth to watch. I high recommend you watch this movie. ^__^
